While social media should be utilized to add value while engaging with customers, i.e., not shouting about a product or service, a small percentage of posts should be devoted to product education. With bike share, I broke down these product-based posts into three main categories: How To, Hub Locations, and Ride Safety. In addition, as nearly everyone loves a good quote, I have included a selection of these in the graphic illustrations across systems across the country. System-specific event illustrations were also created individually, but their vector elements slowly built a shareable library over time.
When designing graphics early on, I knew CycleHop would expand rapidly over the coming years. With that, each asset was designed to enable the full set of illustrations to be rebranded with a simple switch of the color palette and logo. As each collection of graphics contains more than thirty distinct images, this is important as the launch of a system is often filled with chaotic operation tasks implementing high-cost capital goods, leaving minimal resources for marketing.
